Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen is set to leave Ravenseat for a brand new series called Farming Lives

Amanda Owen is set to embark on a fresh journey as part of a new TV series which will make its debut this week.Farming Liveswill see the mum-of-nine head off from Ravenseat to visit other farmers to see how they are coping during these testing times.

The Yorkshire Shepherdess is going solo after announcing she had split from husband Clive last June. The pair remain on good terms though,Mirror Online reports, and she says their uncoupling was not unique and just how things are.

She told the Radio Times that pressures and all the rest of it contributed to their split but said she is getting on with it . She said: We have nine kids, with associated friends, girlfriends, and we just have to get on with it.

In her interview,Amandaspoke about the new series. Explaining the concept of Farming Lives, she said: I visit different farms and their owners and see what theyre up to, how theyve diversified and what challenges theyre facing. It was good for me as Ive been rather confined to my own hill end, so it was nice to get a different outlook.

She was asked about how it was staying on each farm for a few nights. Amanda responded: Eating with them and talking about their lives was important. I keep thinking about having somebody come to stay here with me Id have to do some serious tidying!

Filming the show meant Amanda had to spend time away from her children. However, she says years of training mean they are fine with that.

She said: The nature of what we do means theres always something to be done, so they can bake, cook, even tidy up usually when I give them a warning that Im coming back!

Our Yorkshire Farm has allowed viewers to see the Owen children grow up on screen. Radio Times asked her whether things have got easier as the children have got older.

She said: Its never easy, its different challenges. But I must admit I do like being a part of their journey as they grow up and seeing them develop.

Raven is away at university doing a Masters now, Reubens working independently and loving it, Miles has left school and is working at home. It brings in new people and keeps you on your toes. I hope it keeps me young.

Asked how she has coped with becoming such a well-known face on TV, Amanda said: Life has its challenges, whether thats in media-land or on the farm. You have to adapt and change over time, dont you?

Amanda was also asked about whether she enjoys the glamorous part of showbiz. She said: Of course I do, although I think at the moment Id need a very big scrub and a manicure! I enjoy being not what people expect.

I hate the idea of stereotyping. I might be 6ft 2in and work on the farm, but I can wear heels, stick on false eyelashes and be totally happy talking to a bunch of hill farmers while Im doing it!
